Starting February 21, all are invited to come and walk the large, stone labyrinth. The Labyrinth is located in the back parking in Southminster’s Pavilion.
The purpose of walking a Labyrinth is a contemplative spiritual discipline on a simple marked path. Labryinth walking is based on the ancient practice of pilgrimage. On a pilgrimage, a pilgrim intentionally leaves the world, journeying away from the noise and distractions of life. Eventually, they arrive and rest with Christ, and returns home to live more deliberately and obediently as Christ’s own. Adele Ahlberg Calhoun. Spiritual Disciplines Handbook p. 400. The Labyrinth is open 24 hours a day and will be up until April 10.
