WHAT IS IT?
The Mission Team hopes you will join us for this special annual day in the life of Southminster Presbyterian Church! “The Church Has Left the Building” is a day when we do not have a worship service so that we can worship and praise God through compassionate acts of service. For information on how to sign up, see the Mission page or email the church office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
ALL AGES CAN PARTICIPATE!
If you don’t feel physically able to go to one of the projects taking place at another location, you can stay at church and help with the many projects going on in our building. If you prefer more active endeavors, you can help with one of the tornado relief projects, help clean out sheds and closets at “The Castle,” make lunch for the families at Ronald McDonald House or work one of the 2 shifts for the House of Bread. Projects for children and nursery care are provided.
WHY DO WE DO THIS?
Jesus calls us to live out our faith by serving others. In the Gospel of Matthew, we hear the words, “In as much as you have done it to the least of these, you have done it to me.” We love our neighbors not just by what we feel in our hearts, but by what we do with our hands. This is an opportunity for all of Southminster to work together to make a difference in the broader community.
