God may seem to us like a vast cosmic mystery. Is it possible to ever truly know God? Theologians tend to agree that we can know God because God comes to us, acting in the context of our creaturely existence and history. But how does this occur? Is God’s character revealed in nature? Through our moral sense? Or through special acts of intervention and election, marked by starry skies, burning bushes, a newborn baby wrapped in swaddling clothes, or the written Word?
Please join us for a Zoom call on this provocative topic on Monday, October 19 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Prior to the call, please read the article “God is A (Somewhat) Knowable Mystery” by Cynthia Rigby which comes from The Presbyterian Outlook magazine and is linked here. Steve Davis will facilitate what promises to be a lively discussion. Please sign in with this Zoom link.
