Youth ministry at Southminster is open to all middle and high school students, Grades 6-12. We have multiple opportunities for youth to plug-in and engage with other youth in a growing faith community with fun activities, spiritual growth, and opportunities for service. The youth program is directed by
Sunday School- All middle and high school students are invited to participate in the Sunday worship service at Southminster. Sunday School meets immediately following the service from 11-11:30 am in the Ark Room. While students are at Sunday School, parents are invited to enjoy fellowship and refreshments in the Coffee Corner.
Youth Group- Thursday Night 7:00 pm-8:30 pm. Beginning in the CFC (drop off at lower parking lot Door 6) and ending in the Ark Room (pick up at upper parking lot, Door 13). Youth Group is open to all students and involves time for games and fellowship, as well as teaching and small group discussion.
Puppet Ministry (Grades 3-12) – Puppet ministry is a fun way for students to express their creative side. The group meets on Sunday nights from 6:30-7:30 pm. The sessions run:
- Session I- Oct 6th – Nov 17th
- Session II- Jan 12th – March 22ndl
- Session III- April 12th – May 17th
Summer Trip – Look forward to a summer trip to Montreat Youth Conference in Summer 2020! Dates and details coming soon.
Worship Leader: Assist in leading worship by reading the “Call to Worship”, ushering, or helping with the soundboard
Nursery Care: Help take care of the little ones during worship or special events
Parents’ Night Out: Enjoy playing with kids or helping in the nursery once a month during this night of fun.
Quarterly Service projects: There will be quarterly service projects on weekends or days off from school
