The Learning Resource Center(LRCs) at Southminster Presbyterian Church has a large collection of religious and secular materials including
- Books for adults, children, and youth—fiction and nonfiction (mostly 200 Dewey numbers)
- Audiovisual materials including DVD’s and Videotapes
- Church curriculum, with a focus on reformed materials
Some of the resources are designed to help teach a class, while others are especially for individuals to use for study, devotions, or personal enjoyment. Many videos/DVDs include study guides and helps for teaching. Our current print focus is in the areas of social justice and grief- both fiction and nonfiction. The collection has an extensive fiction and children’s collection. The catalog of all materials can be accessed by clicking here.
The Learning Resource Center is in the Southminster Presbyterian Church at Alex Bell and Far Hills Avenue in Centerville and is a project of the Equipping for Ministry Network of the Presbytery of the Miami Valley. The LRCs is fully accessible through the lower level, off Alex Bell through the week, or by entering the main entrance on Far Hills on Sunday. The entrance to the LRCs is directly in front of the elevator on the main floor.
The LRCs is open for self-serve anytime the church is open when the church office is open 9:00 till 4:30 M-Th, and on Sunday from 9:30 am till 11:30 am. In addition, the LRCs is staffed on Monday, from 10 am till 1 pm. Call the church office at 937-433-1810 to verify hours and to speak to the librarian, Gay Amos.
The LRCs welcomes people from all the churches in Presbytery. Do check out the resources! A self-check-out process is available near the resource desk, with a generous system of due date for ll materials of one month..
