The Path of Learning
The Path of Learning
Children and Worship: Our Christian education program includes an innovative program to teach children about worship in the reformed tradition. To do this we use the Sonja Stewart and Jerome Barryman book, Young Children and Worship. This program is for children of any age (4-adult) who wish to participate following the Time with Children.
The Room for Children and Worship is 225 and you will find it transformed into a worship space for children. There is a lovely wall painted as a focal point and beautiful wood figures to express the stories of our faith.
As we begin there is a time of welcome and calling each child to worship. Following the music a Bible story is told using the materials. There is a time of working out the story in a variety of art mediums with each child having their own space and time to reflect. Each Sunday there is a time of prayer and a time of affirmation and benediction.
We have recruited story tellers, one for each month in both services and now are looking for greeters who will serve one week each month in one service. If you have questions or comments please contact Jeanne McIver (433.1810 or Jeanne@sminster.com).

Young Children age 3 through 5 have Christian Education every Sunday from 9:45 till 10:45. There is time to play and time to learn together about the stories of God.
