Southminster will return to one worship service during the summer, starting at 10 a.m. for the months of June, July, and August, and the first Sunday of September.

Computers for the Slightly Anxious. Have you ever wanted to know how to send and receive e-mail? Would you like to know how to attach pictures or other documents to e-mail? Maybe you would like to create and send online greetings. Or how about finding and using online Bible resources? These and other subjects can be explored on Wednesday evenings beginning July 14 and running through July 28. Classes will meet at 7 p.m. in the computer lab and will be led by Barbara Dettenmayer. Monday, July 26 through Friday, July 30- Our summer Youth mission week will be July 26 - 30th for local mission. We'll build a house with Habitat, work at the River of Hope ranch, knit hats for NICU babies, serve food at Target Dayton for the homeless, and visit shut ins. Mark you calendars now for this awesome week!

Monday, August 2 - Friday, August 6 - Vacation Bible School. Baobab Blast: God's Great Get-Together is August 2-6 from nine till noon at Southminster. There will be two VBS programs: one for preschool children (ages 3 through 5 who have not attended kindergarten yet), and one for children who have gone to kindergarten through the fifth grade. Each program will be separate but will have the same stories and music. There will be a suggested donation of $10 for each child for the week. Teens and adults are needed to help; you may contact Mary Stahley or Jeanne McIver to volunteer. Registrations are required for all children and may be made in the Narthex or by clicking here before August 1. On the Sunday following VBS, August 8, the children will share their music and learning with the congregation in worship at 10 a.m.

Friday, August 6 - Elderberries Luncheon. This month we will meet in the Pavilion for a Barbeque and Bingo. Please sign up in the narthex or by calling the church office by August 3. Cost for lunch is $5.00.

Thursday, August 12 - Grief Support Group. Finding healing through loss and grief is a difficult journey but one that finds support and encouragement in community. At Southminster we desire to help. A grief support group gathers on the second Thursday of each month to offer such support. If you are experiencing the challenges of loss, we hope you will consider joining us. Our next gathering is Thursday, August 12, at 10 a.m. in the Coffee Corner. For more information, please contact Jane Hancock.

Ice Cream Social. Mark your calendars for a summer treat... an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social on Saturday, August 14 from 7-9 p.m. in our Church Pavilion. You can build your own sundae with all your favorite toppings! There will be time for great socializing and plenty of games for the kids. Rumor has it... a watermelon seed spitting contest. Dianne Long and Jane Preston will be taking reservations before and after the service. Bring your family and friends and come join the fun!

House of Bread - The House of Bread needs our help. Do you like being the hands and feet of Christ? Do you want to show God's love to those who are Hungry? Can you spare a few hours on a Wednesday morning to help your neighbor? Volunteer dates for Southminster Church are:
