Montreat 2007

Earlier this year, the children in Carol Greathouse and Jane Barlow’s Sunday school class decided to raise money for a trip to the Cincinnati Zoo. The trip took place on August 18th with 4 adults and 12 kids. What a time we had! The trip was an overnight adventure that included sleeping with the manatees, one on one with some special animals, experiencing behind the scene adventures and enjoying the zoo the following day.

The weather was great and the company was even better. We all had a great time. We would like to thank everyone that purchased the Easter gifts for the fund raiser that helped raise some of the money for the children to go.
Sunday School Trip to Cincinnati Zoo

At the invitation of Southminster's Choir Director Gwen Brubaker, eight members of our Sanctuary Choir joined the Ohio Lyric Theater Community Chorus in performing The Children’s Mass by John Rutter, under the direction of Mr. Rutter in historic Carnegie Hall in New York City on June 18. (Members of Southminster may recall our choir singing the Gloria from this Mass in April, and our performance at Kuss Auditorium of the entire Mass in May.)

Our Carnegie Hall Debut was joined by 200+ choir members from Montana, Minnesota, Texan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Kansas, Arizona and Ohio.
