Beginning Monday, May 27 - The Book Is Better Than the Movie (or the Mini-Series): The Bible in 90 Days. This summer our congregation will be undertaking a special adventure! Over the course of 90 days, we will work our way through the Bible via sermons, Growth Groups, and individual readings.

The Better Than the Movie readings will begin on Monday, May 27; and the sermon series will begin on Sunday, June 2. Growth Groups will commence on June 30. Look for the 90-Day Reading Guide online here, or as a cut-out in next month’s edition of The Window. It will also be available as a pamphlet in the Narthex and the downstairs lobby.

We are excited to begin this journey through the entire Bible together and look forward to it as a time of great spiritual growth for the Southminster Church family. Please join us for this special series and use it as an opportunity to invite your friends who might also wish to better understand the Bible.

Wednesday, June 19 - The Community Meal will be held at 6 p.m. in the pavilion. (If it rains we will be in the CFC.) The menu includes hamburgers and potato salad. Bring a friend or neighbor and enjoy friendship and food.

Saturday, June 22, 9-3, The Principles and Practices of Blessing Based Spiritual Nurture, facilitators Pastor Jackie Nowak and Dr. Donald Rogers, Blessing Center Board member.

Cost: $35 for registrations received by June 1. After June 15, fee is $50. A generous donor has funded this workshop. As of fall 2013, training in BBSN will return to its usual $250.

Southminster and Blessing Center Board members and those returning to refresh their skills may attend for free.

Pre-reading about blessing ministries is encouraged for this workshop. Blessing ministries are rooted in an understanding of God’s grace, immanence and connection to communities and each person, from before birth throughout life.
